LAP TIMER · PHONE GPS

Your laps, from your phone.

Set a start/finish line, put the phone in its mount, and every crossing becomes a lap. These are phone GPS times: good for seeing where a session went, not a transponder. The page has to stay on screen while you drive, and nothing leaves the phone unless you publish a lap yourself.

Demo: a simulated car laps the mapped circuit at 8× speed. Nothing here is a real time, and demo laps can never be published.

Circuit

Saved with the session and frozen when you press start, so changing it later never rewrites an old session.

Timing lines

Each line is a centre point, the direction cars travel across it (0° north, 90° east, 180° south, 270° west) and its width. Make it wide enough for the whole track, narrow enough to miss the pit lane and any parallel straight. Set them while parked.

Sessions on this device

Up to 100 completed sessions, kept in this browser only. Demo and GPS sessions stay labelled. No GPS trace is kept: laps, not positions.

Leaderboard PRO

Unverified community phone GPS times. Phone accuracy, the car people say they drove and their own timing lines all vary; these are not circuit records. A layout only has a board once its timing lines have been surveyed and reviewed, so every lap on it was timed across the same lines.

Publish a fastest lap

Pick a completed phone GPS session on a reviewed layout. Its fastest valid lap, car, sectors and date go on the board under the name you choose; a slower lap never replaces a faster one of yours. Your email is never shown.

Recording a real session

  1. Parked, before you go out: pick the exact layout, open Timing lines and set start/finish. Stand on the line and use your position, or type the numbers.
  2. Mount the phone with a clear view of the sky, screen on. Start recording and allow location.
  3. Timing starts at your first start/finish crossing, not when you press Start.
  4. Keep the page on screen. Switching app or locking the phone invalidates the lap in progress; browsers do not record in the background.
  5. Stop when parked. Never touch the phone while driving.

Many track day organisers do not permit lap timing on open pit lane days. Check before you run.
